炎上する領事館内に取り残された駐リビア米国大使、死の真相は

リビア東部ベンガジ（Benghazi）で起きた米領事館襲撃事件で、J・クリストファー・スティーブンス（J. Christopher Stevens）駐リビア米国大使が死亡した際、炎上する領事館内では何が起きていたのか。

匿名で取材に応じた米当局者によれば、「正体不明のリビア人過激派グループ」による襲撃が始まったのは、現地時間11日午後10時（日本時間12日午前5時）ごろ。武装グループは15分もたたずに敷地内に侵入し、本館に銃撃を開始するとともに放火した。リビア人警備員や領事館の保安職員が応戦したという。
