NZ地震、豪人医師ら男性救出 ポケットナイフで脚を切断

ニュージーランドのクライストチャーチ地震でがれきの下敷きになった男性を、たまたま同地にいたオーストラリア人の医師らが救出していたことが分かった。男性は脚をがれきにはさまれていたため、脚を切断せざるを得なかった。

昨年９月にも大きな地震に見舞われたニュージーランド南島のクライストチャーチで２月２２日、
マグニチュード６．３の地震が発生し、これまでに６５人の死亡が確認された。（2月22日時点で）
現状では、日本人２８人を含む、１８１人が死亡した。

東日本大震災が起こった３月１１日の２日前の事象です。

９日午前１１時４５分頃、三陸沖でマグニチュード７．３の地震があった。この地震の震源は沿岸から約160キロ沖合で、東京から北東に約430キロの地点。気象庁によると震源の深さは海底から約10キロだった。地震発生の数分後に岩手県、宮城県、福島県、青森県太平洋沿岸に津波注意報が出されたが、約３時間後にすべて解除された。

　地震発生の約３０分後に岩手県の大船渡港で高さ６０センチの津波を観測した。また、最初の地震発生から約１２分後にマグニチュード５．６の地震が発生したが、警察によるといずれの地震でも負傷者の報告はないという。東京電力と東北電力は、青森県、宮城県、福島県にある原子力発電所に被害はなかったと発表した。地震発生直後に一部の新幹線が自動停止したが、その後運行は再開された。

地方太平洋沖地震は、日本における観測史上最大の規模、マグニチュード９を記録した。
人的被害は１２月２日現在、死者は１５，８４０人、重軽傷者は５，９５１人、行方不明者は３，５４６人と発表さ
れている。しかし、避難所生活中になくなっられた方の人数は入っていない。
